Ein moderner DB Haltepunkt der Epoche VI nach aktuellen Vorbildern soll den in die Jahre gekommenen Modellbahnhof Kleiningen ersetzen. Das beinhaltet die Verbreiterung und Verlängerung des Bahnsteigs, barrierefreie Zugänge und tastbare Bodenleitsysteme, die Außerbetriebsetzung des Empfangsgebäudes sowie den Rückbau von Güter- und Stellwerksanlagen. Das nur noch privat genutzte Bahnhofsgebäude soll durch ein Modell im Maßstab 1:87 nach aktuellen Vorlagen der Bahnhöfe des preußischen Einheitstyps auf der Rhein-Erft-Bahn repräsentiert werden.

A modern DB station based on current real stations is to replace the outdated Kleiningen model station. This includes the widening and lengthening of the platform, barrier-free access and tactile floor guidance systems, the decommissioning of the entrance building and the dismantling of freight and signal box systems.
The station building, which is only used privately, is to be represented by a 1:87 scale model based on current models of the Prussian standard train stations of the Rhein-Erft-Bahn (German only). |

Planung und Material
Im ersten Teil der Videoreihe wird die Planung (Gleisplan mit SCARM) und das Material (Märklin C-Gleise, Modelle überwiegend von Auhagen) vorgestellt. Erste Versuche zur Verwirklichung einer den Einheitsbahnhöfen der Rhein-Erft-Bahn (insbes. in Pulheim und Rommerskirchen) nachempfundenen Backsteinziegelfassade werden gezeigt. |

Zu einem modernen DB Haltepunkt gehören auch die heute üblichen Betonschwellengleise. Im Märklin Sortiment fehlen diese leider. Als Lösung werden verfügbare 2-Leiter Beton-schwellengleise mit Mittelleiterkontakten versehen. |
